Chapter Fifteen
Crystal Caves
“Draco, we
are at Mentires Cliffs because that is the only place we are safe,” Avonlea
explained to Draco. Draco looked out of the tent and saw some big cliffs around
them. “Is Fiery Hills nearby because I know someone who can help us,” Draco
said, amazed at the cliffs. “No, Fiery Hills is destroyed from the Air Hole,
but we found an Air Master called Fenero,” Avonlea replied to Draco. “Fenero is
my cousin, and thank you for saving him!” Draco said, calmly.
“Hey! Look,
a crystal!” cried Midnight. All of the
dragons peered out of the tent, there was a crystal. “Let’s go and get that
crystal!” said Avonlea. The dragons walked down the cliff and got to the
crystal. There was more than one, then they figured out there was a full cave
of them.
Just then, a
shimmering one gleamed in the cave. It
was so bright that everyone wanted it except for Avonlea. “Guys, it might be a
trap because this is Crystal Caves, so there are a few traps here!” Avonlea exclaimed,
but no one listened. They all wanted the
shimmering light. They all ran and left Avonlea at the entrance of the cave.
Wingslash came first to the light, it was a diamond. Wingslash pulled it out,
but some string came out and the floor started to go down. Draco tried to climb up the rocks since the
Air Hole had a wing power draining ability, but he just fell and fell. Firewing came up first, then grabbed Wingslash’s
hand and pulled him up. Draco then ran to get Wingslash’s hand but Draco
tripped and fell. Draco dreaded that he was going to get stuck but he saw a vine.
Draco
grabbed the vine and held onto it with all of his might. Midnight and Flamewing
were scouting so they didn’t come. “Draco, are you ok?” Firewing cried down at
Draco. “I am ok, but can you get a rope?” Draco replied. After 5 minutes, Draco
saw a rope come down and he got hold of the rope.
Draco
climbed the rope and got to the surface. “I told you that you should not go
into the cave because it might be dangerous!” said Avonlea. “Well it was the
Menkazer Crystal. How were we supposed
to know about that? The gleam of it makes us want to come to it,” replied
Midnight. Draco looked and saw a pattern on the wall. “Wingslash you are a
genius. The ceiling is a map of
everywhere!” Draco said, excited.
Avonlea drew
the map and they made their way to Grassy Forest. Draco was uneasy about that place;
it was almost the same setting as the forest in the dream he had about the
Grass Whistler. Draco looked on the map and looked in the deep, blue sky.
