Chapter Sixteen

Blue Ribbon Waterfall

“You two stay here while we go find help,” Avonlea said to Fenero and Wingslash. They both nodded in agreement. “Draco, Flamebird, and Firewing are going to Blue Ribbon Waterfall. Midnight, Darkfrost, and I are going to Gleaming Glaciers,” Avonlea said.  Everyone agreed except for Midnight. Midnight wanted to stay with Wingslash. Avonlea agreed for Midnight to stay with Wingslash.

Draco, Flamebird, and Firewing walked over in the direction to Blue Ribbon Waterfall. “Do you think we will find any help in Grassy Forest or whatever it is called?” Firewing asked. “I heard that Thunder Team patrols around there, so we can find them and they can help us,” Flamebird replied. Draco pulled out a study book Slether gave him in classes. Draco looked in the book as they were getting to Rock Hill.

“Stop, it is another trap!” Draco yelled. They stopped at the ledge that led to Rock Hill. “This is basically a mine field, but if you step on the wrong rock it pulls you in and suffocates you,” Draco explained. “This is bad,” Firewing said. “I wish we had our flying powers back, but that stupid Air Hole took those powers away!” Flamebird said, angrily.

Draco had a plan; he whispered it to Flamebird and Firewing. Draco threw branches at the rocks, some of them pulled them in, and others didn’t pull them in.

“Ok let’s go on the rocks that didn’t pull in the branches,” Draco said to Flamebird and Firewing. Draco stepped on the rocks and made it to the bottom of the hill. Flamebird came next, but he nearly got caught by a hole. Luckily Firewing saved him and they kept going. They made it to the bottom of the hill and kept on going.

They made it to the Blue Ribbon Waterfall just in time to see a blue dragon walking around the waterfall. “Who are you?” asked the blue dragon. “She is Firewing and he is Flamebird and I am Draco. Also, who are you?” Draco asked. “I am the Doctor, or you could just call me the Doctor,” The Doctor said. “Oh, from Doctor Who!” Flamebird said. “Oh, from that TV at the Chinese Village,” Draco said. “Well how can I be of assistance?” the Doctor asked. “Well, two of our friends are going to Gleaming Glaciers so you can assist them, but if they try to attack you, just say that Draco said so,” Draco said. They nodded and The Doctor flew off into the distance.

“That guy is cool!” Flamebird exclaimed. “We should have said for him to find help!” Firewing complained. “Everything will be ok, trust me,” Draco said.

“We should make a camp here near the waterfall because it is getting dark,” Flamebird said. “Ok, Draco you get some silk from Silky Hills for the tent.  Flamebird you get some food, and I will make a fire,” Firewing instructed. They all went in different directions.

Draco pondered what he saw at the waterfall. He liked the waterfall, it had a nice breeze as it cascaded on the rocks and the water swayed like a ribbon. Draco was going to climb up the waterfall to see what he could find, but something strange happened.

He could swear that he saw a dozen dead dragons looking at him, but their eyes were gleaming. “Ahhh!” Draco screamed. “What happened?” Firewing said, running towards Draco. “I am ok, I am fine but thank you,” Draco said, scared.  Firewing shrugged and walked away. Draco looked up at the waterfall and saw nothing. Draco shrugged to and walked away.

Draco had reached the pathway to Silky Hills. Draco walked down the pathway and kept looking forward, not looking back. Just then, a dragon ran into him and tackled him. “Hello there, old friend,” said a dark, pitch black girl dragon.
